Whimsy  Trio

Formed in 2023, Naomi Nakanishi's Whimsy Trio features a group of NYC-based jazz musicians: Naomi Nakanishi as bandleader and pianist, Charlie Lincoln on the upright bass and Chase Elodia on drumset.

 

Their sound as an ensemble boasts of strong rhythmic interplay, playful improvisations, and patient composing, fortifying curiosity on any stage. The band draws influence from bands/artists such as the Geri Allen Trio, Carla Bley, Angelica Sanchez, Keith Jarrett's Trios, and Thelonious Monk.

 

Their first bicoastal coast tour will take place in the Winter of 2025 following the recording of their debut album, Whimsy.
